The Reo Motor Car Company shares a unique history with Spartan Motors, Inc. Reo Motor Car Company began 100 years ago with the young entrepreneur, Ransom Eli Olds. In 1975, Reo closed and a group of Reo associates including George Sztykiel, William Foster, Gerald Geri, and John Knox created a new company with the inherited Reo heritage and named it Spartan Motors, Inc.

The mystique of Reo lives on through the founders of Spartan Motors, Inc. and a group of over 700 REO club members that reside in 19 countries worldwide. Members will join together to participate in the REO Centennial Celebration that started with a tour of Lansing on Monday, July 12th and ends on Saturday, July 17th with a homecoming banquet.

Along with the Spartan Chassis tour, the event will include a trip to Gilmore Car Museum in Hickory Corners, a tour of the State of Michigan Historical Museum, a trip to visit the special REO display at the R.E.
