Defense & Government: Success
A significant factor in Spartan’s success in helping to produce defense products has been the hard work, dedication and specialized skills of its workforce.
Senior U.S. military officials and executives from major defense contractors BAE Systems and Force Protection recognized Spartan employees for their critical role in the rapid production and deployment of MRAP vehicles during two special ceremonies in 2008. Press Releases >
The Defense Supply Center Columbus (DSCC), the land and maritime weapon and system parts supply and demand manager for the Defense Logistics Agency within the Defense Department, honored Spartan as one of the government’s best suppliers in August 2009.
Spartan is known and has been publically recognized for its reliability, speed of manufacturing and effectively supporting customer needs related to spare parts and sustainment.
Using the Automated Best Value System, a computerized system, the DSCC compiles past performance data including variables such as quality of shipments and on-time delivery, and then translates that information into a numeric score, ranging from zero to 100. Spartan was one of only 83 companies (out of 6,000 suppliers) to be honored, earning a Silver Medal Award which recognizes suppliers who earn a score of 99 to 99.99.
Previously in June 2008, the Defense Supply Center Richmond, the aviation supply and demand chain manager for the Defense Logistics Agency within the Defense Department, honored Spartan with the Gold Award for attaining 100 percent in both quality of shipments and on-time deliveries.
